Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum is currently the hereditary Prince of Dubai since 2008. Previously His Highness had also been selected as the Chairman of Dubai Executive Council in 2006. The young leader is highly educated, an accomplished sportsman and a writer. His Highness represents a modern leader of Dubai, prepared to undertake the challenges that pose to his leadership.
His Highness has expressed optimism about the growth and prospects of UAE and Dubai in the future in continuation with the regions’ legacy in terms of opportunities, stability and peace. His Highness has acknowledged the contribution of his forefathers in the making of Dubai and is highly influenced by the leadership and guidance of his own father. He believes that he too, like his father and the past leaders of the Emirates, has inherited the determination to achieve goals and embrace challenges. His vision is focussed at working towards enhancing Dubai’s position as a financial, business and tourism hub.
His Highness is keen on mobilizing the young talent available by creating new opportunities, skills and empowerment of the new generation while retaining their Emirati culture and showcasing it at the world stage. He finds this imperative for Dubai’s transition into the next stage of development. His priority remains in strengthening the key sectors of Dubai economy while promoting Dubai as a knowledge hub over the Middle East region and encouraging entrepreneurship and innovations- both home grown and abroad. It is very appreciable that His Highness Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum is emerging as a determined leader to drive the youth force along with working on the key sectors of the Dubai economy- trade, finance, tourism and logistics.
His Highness has also highlighted the advantage of Dubai’s geographic position between the East and the West along with the presence of world-class infrastructure that continues to make Dubai an attractive international destination for trade and business. Admittedly, it is due to Dubai’s inherent prosperity over the years that has made it resilient against volatilities of the global economic sphere. Dubai was able to fully recover from the global financial crisis that had hit the world in 2008. On 27th November 2013 it successfully earned the trust of the international community to host the prestigious event World Expo 2020, winning the bid by 116 votes! In response to this delightful success, His Highness reportedly waved the UAE flag from the top floor of Burj Khalifa.
His Highness envisions in making Dubai and UAE as centres of excellence through accomplishments whose strategies are already on the roll to further this realization.
